if you ever feel the desperate need
to break the silence
as we amble down our pilgrimed way
resist it – I will do the same

in my heart’s emptied room
tower bells ring ‘high noon’
marking the half-way to the end
fallen angels are ones to repent

resist it, as I carry on with a promise
I obliged myself to fulfill
listen to the silence when it speaks
let it conciliate, relieve, and heal
